This weekend workshop, led by Claire Santos (E-RYT 500) and Joshua Diliberto (LPCA & RYT 200), is designed for those who want to incorporate mindfulness based practices such as yoga and meditation into their daily lives in order to increase their own and/or their clients ability to handle the ordinary and sometimes extraordinary stresses of daily life. We will dive deep into what trauma and resilience look like from scientific, psychological and cultural perspectives, explore some of the origins and impacts of trauma and learn immediately applicable, positively impactful mindfulness based interventions to reduce stress and increase focus, attention and a sense of well being.
This training will be especially beneficial to anyone who works with trauma as a provider and/or is seeking to cultivate more resilience in their own life. Participants do not need to be yoga teachers in order to attend, although a willingness to experience yoga and mindfulness practices is highly beneficial.
This course will cover:
Neurobiology of stress, trauma and resilience
Effects of trauma on the body and mind
Environmental, Social, Cultural and Psychological elements
Trauma & Resilience defined and explored
Trauma triggers and working with them
Resilience Focused Trauma Informed practices for mindfulness/movement based interventions
